Suhani Shah is an outstanding student in the Huron community, having served as President of the Huron Green Club this year as well as Vice President of Marketing for the Huron Blood Donation Program.
As Suhani reflects back on the 2022-2023 school year, she feels most passionate and proud about her work as the HUCSC's Special Events Commissioner. This year, Suhani made it her mission to educate the Huron community about her culture and ensure that all international students, despite being halfway around the world, feel at home. Suhani proposed a Bollywood Night as a solution that would meet her goals. With support of the HUCSC Communications Team, she was able to prepare, organize, and execute a successful night that enabled over 100 students to become further immersed in her culture.
Suhani intends to make Bollywood Night an annual Huron event and to organize more events of similar nature to continue to bridge the gap between international and domestic students. As for advice, Suhani encourages all Huron students to get involved in the community by participating in extracurricular activities or starting one if there is not one that matches your interests. She also encourages everyone to be yourselves and push beyond your comfort zone.
