Sophia Aitken is a fourth-year student pursuing Political Science and History. As a Jack.org Year Representative, History Representative, member of the Advocacy Committee, Political Science Research Assistant, and Programming Assistant for the Huron Soph Team, Sophia has consistently worked to amplify student voices, build community, and support peers. Her experience in research and governance has deepened their understanding of systemic challenges, fueling a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging student experience.
The Student Affairs portfolio, which Sophia leads as VPSA, is responsible for spearheading wellness and equity initiatives, gathering and translating student feedback into actionable points through policy papers, advocating for student needs, and connecting peers to essential resources. The VPSA also oversees a team of around 14 students across the Student Affairs, Equity, and Wellness portfolios, collaborates on educational events and campaigns, and serves on key committees.
