Tyler Turk is a third-year student at Huron University College pursuing an Honours Specialisation Bachelors in Political Science and a minor in English and Cultural Studies. In the 2025-2026 academic year, he served as the USC representative on the General Assembly, and the Huron Liaison on the USC council. As an accredited photographer, Tyler has published several pieces showcasing the power of student protest, while also serving as one of the student council's photographers.
Tyler has advocated across both Huron and Westerns campuses for more accessible transit, safe needle disposal sites, Al regulation and ethical divestment policies. Additionally, He worked with the Thames Valley District School Board for four years, helping to develop equity, diversity and inclusion based programming, shaping the way educators approach EDI efforts. His academic work and extensive involvement in student governance reflect a deep commitment to fostering an empathetic community and amplifying student voices across campus.
The Student Affairs portfolio, which Tyler leads as VPSA, is responsible for spearheading wellness and equity initiatives, gathering and translating student feedback into actionable points through advocacy papers, fighting for student needs, and connecting peers to essential resources. The VPSA also oversees a team of around 14 students across the Student Affairs, Equity, and Wellness portfolios, collaborates on educational events and campaigns, and serves on key committees.
