How to Start a New Club
Have an awesome idea for a new club? We love seeing students take initiative and bring their passions to life! Starting a club is one of the best ways to meet new people, share your interests, and make a difference in our school community.
The HUCSC is here to help you every step of the way — from getting your idea approved to organizing your first meeting. Whether it’s a club for gamers, volunteers, artists, or future leaders, Huron is the place to make it happen.
Let’s get started and turn your idea into the next big thing at Huron!
Starting a Club

All clubs must be unique and distinct from any other Huron club
The clubs governance committee (CGC)
The CGC is here to help keep Huron’s clubs running smoothly. They review budgets and constitutions, approve new clubs, and offer grants to help them grow. They also step in to sort out conflicts or issues if they come up, making sure clubs stay fun, fair, and welcoming for everyone.
Club ratification timeline
Every year, the HUCSC runs two rounds of club ratifications, one at the very beginning of the year, and one towards the end of first semester. When you choose to get ratified will impact your club’s budget size, the number of students you are able to attract, and your clubs ability to operate during the first half of the school year.

Clubs Policy
The HUCSC Clubs Policy is the guiding framework for how clubs at Huron operate. It outlines the responsibilities of club executives, the supports available through HUCSC, and the processes you need to follow to keep your club in good standing. Whether you’re requesting funding, promoting your events, or managing your budget, this policy ensures consistency, fairness, and accountability across all clubs.
