Portfolio Hiring
Looking to make a difference on campus? Want to develop leadership skills, build your resume, and be part of a dynamic team shaping the student experience at Huron?
HUCSC Hiring is your opportunity to get involved in student government through paid and volunteer positions that span leadership, advocacy, events, communications, and more.
How Hiring Works
Each year, HUCSC runs two main hiring cycles—in the spring and fall—with a wide range of roles available within each HUCSC portfolio.
Spring Hiring (April)
Spring hiring focuses on senior and core leadership roles, including:
Associate Vice Presidents (AVPs)
Elections staff (CRO & DRO)
Coordinators
These roles begin in May and often involve key planning and leadership responsibilities. These positions are often occupied by students with previous experience either in the portfolios or with relevant professional experience.
Fall Hiring (September)
Fall hiring fills remaining roles and committee positions, including:
Select coordinators (Photographer)
Commissioners (incl. Yearbook and Hype Team)
These positions are perfect for students looking to get involved for the first time or build on their experience from previous years.
HUCSC Portfolios
Each role falls under a specific HUCSC Portfolio, led by a student Executive. Portfolios include:
Presidential: high level oversight and institutional advocacy with administration, etc.
Student Affairs: student advocacy, resource connection, feedback collection, etc.
Events: academic/networking events, mixers, socials, Huron Ball, Relay for Life, etc.
Finance: clubs, Beaver Dam operations, budget oversight, clothing merchandise, etc.
Communications: website, social media, public relations, etc.
