Tishe Suleman is a 3rd year Honours Political Science and English student. Her council journey began in her first year as Deputy Speaker of the HUCSC, temporarily stepping into the role of Speaker during the 2025 Presidential elections. Her journey with the HUCSC continued in her second year where she served in the presidential portfolio as Associate to the President, supporting programming surrounding certificate subsidization and equitable access to course materials.
Her involvement on campus also extended to club leadership, serving as President of the Huron Women in Political Science club where she developed programming relating to improving the visibility of women in political and legal spaces. These on-campus involvements facilitated her pivot to the role of President of the HUCSC, guided by her existing commitments to equity, affordability, and student-wellbeing at Huron.
Outside of Huron, Tishe’s experiences range from supporting the London Public Library’s R.E.A.D program as a literacy facilitator, and exploring a world of policy development through the National Model Senate and 1834 Fellowship programs.
The presidential portfolio provides the strategic oversight for student council. By collaborating with the other portfolios, the portfolio produces overarching initiatives and student support, fostering positive relationships between on and off campus stakeholders.
